Nobi Iso, owner of Team Iso, has added a second rider to his REV’IT! Twins Cup squad for this weekend’s round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Twenty-two-year-old Italian rider Filippo Rovelli joins team rider Dominic Doyle on the team, and both riders will race Giaccmoto LLC-prepared Yamaha YZF-R7s in this weekend’s two REV’IT! Twins Cup races.

Last year, Rovelli competed in Italy’s Yamaha R7 Cup and earned an opportunity to race in the Yamaha R7 SuperFinale this past September at Circuit de Barcelona in Catalunya. Rovelli qualified on the front row for that weekend’s two races and took the victory in race one.

“The main purpose of this program with Team Iso is to provide activation for the awesome Yamaha YZF-R7,” commented Giaccmoto principal Chuck Giacchetto. “When we were asked to host the wildcard entry with Filippo, we proudly accepted the offer, especially since he is a part of the Yamaha global family. Huge thanks to Nobi Iso for hosting Filippo and also congratulations to him and all of Team Iso for the great work they’re already doing with Dominic Doyle.”

In Friday’s first qualifying session, Rovelli provisionally put himself in sixth position on the starting grid, and Doyle qualified seventh. Final qualifying is Saturday morning at 9:15 PT and race one is Saturday afternoon at 2:10 PT. Race two starts on Sunday at 2:10 PT.

Along with Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., and Giaccmoto LLC, Team Iso is supported by Westby Racing, SE Composites, Attack Performance, Superbike Unlimited, Bitubo Italy, Vesrah, Galespeed, aRacer USA, Core Moto USA, RK Excel America, Suter Racing Products, Spears Enterprises, Yoshimura R&D of America, 5zero4 Designs, and Arai Helmet, Inc.
