Anthony Mazziotto will fill in for the injured Dominic Doyle at the VIR round for BARTCON Racing.

BARTCON Racing has announced that multi-time MotoAmerica race winner Anthony Mazziotto will join the team for next weekend’s second round of the 2021 MotoAmerica Supersport Series as a replacement rider for the injured Dominic Doyle.

Doyle, who suffered a broken wrist in a practice crash in the opening round of the series at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on May 1, is expected to return to action for round three at Road America in June. Prior to suffering his injury at Road Atlanta, Doyle had been doing some preseason testing with Mazziotto at New Jersey Motorsports Park, according to the team.

Mazziotto won two MotoAmerica Superstock 600 races in 2017 in addition to six KTM RC Cup victories in 2015 and 2016. He also finished seventh in the 2018 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship with a podium finish at his home round at NJMP.

“We were extremely happy that he accepted the chance to stand in for Dominic when the opportunity presented itself,” said BARTCON team owner Colin Barton. “Welcome to the team, Mazz.”
