Maximiliano Gerardo

Uruguayan standout Maximiliano “Maxi” Gerardo brings an elite international pedigree to Altus Motorsports for 2026. A multi-time champion across Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, Gerardo has proven his pace on the world stage in European Superstock 600. Since debuting in MotoAmerica, he has become a perennial podium threat, notably securing three podium finishes across two different classes.

Despite a limited 2025 schedule, Gerardo showcased his clinical efficiency by finishing 5th and 6th at Laguna Seca in his only appearance. Now, he reunites with Altus Motorsports for a full-season assault on the Supersport championship. Armed with the new Yamaha R9, the veteran aims to leverage his vast technical experience to reclaim his status as a consistent frontrunner and title contender.

Little Known Fact: Maxi began his racing career as a junior in motocross. Began road racing when he was 14. Won 600 Supersport National Championships in three countries (Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay) in 2014.

2025 – Raced only the Laguna Seca round of MotoAmerica Supersport and scored a 5th and 6th. Those points put him 18th in the standings. Raced an Altus Motorsports Yamaha. 2024 – Finished 9th in MotoAmerica Supersport. Scored seven top-10 finishes, including a podium (3rd) at Barber Motorsports Park. Raced a TopPro Racing Team Suzuki. 2023 – Raced just the COTA round of MotoAmerica Supersport and scored a pair of top-10 finishes 8th and 7th). Raced a Top Pro Motorsports Kawasaki. Ranked 21st as a result of those two finishes. 2022 – Only raced the first three events of 2022 before his team disolved, but managed a podium finish (3rd) in the MotoAmerica Stock 1000 race at VIR. Finished 14th in the Stock 1000 Championship on the strength of his four series finishes. Raced a Kawasaki for PDR Motorsports. Also raced a few MotoAmerica Superbike rounds with a best finish of 11th at Road Atlanta. Ranked 28th in Superbike. He was the top Superbike Cup finisher at Road Atlanta and ranked 10th in that series for riders racing their Stock 1000 machines in Superbike. 2021 – Finished 10th in MotoAmerica Stock 1000 on the strength of five top-10 finishes. Best result was sixth in the first leg at VIR. Raced with Tango Racing Kawasaki. 2020 – Made his MotoAmerica debut at Barber Motorsports Park racing Stock 1000 for Tango Racing. Raced only three rounds yet still finished 12th overall in Stock 1000 based on the strength of excellent finishes, including a podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Raced a Kawasaki. 2019 – Raced in the Argentinian Championships. 2017 – Won the Brazilian 600 Supersport Championship. 2016: Uruguay 600 Supersport Champion. 2015: Raced European Superstock 600 Championship and finished 23rd, best result was ninth in Portugal, where he turned the fastest lap of the race. 2014 – Won Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay 600 Supersport Championships. Raced select CEV FIM Superstock 600 races. 2011-2010 – Argentina 250cc Champion.
