Troy Herfoss

Troy Herfoss, the 2024 King of the Baggers Champion and three-time Australian Superbike titleholder, enters the 2026 season as the spearhead of the newly formed J&P Cycles/Motul/Vance & Hines Factory Indian team. Since his explosive American debut, the Australian sensation has redefined what is possible on a 620-pound bagger, combining surgical precision with a relentless “flat-out” racing style.

Herfoss’s 2024 rookie campaign was historic, yielding seven wins and 15 podiums to secure the title in his first attempt. He followed that performance with a gritty 2025 season, finishing third overall with two victories at Road America and COTA, plus six podium finishes. Known for his remarkable adaptability, Herfoss has excelled across disciplines, from AMA Supermoto to top-tier Superbike competition, making him one of the most versatile riders in the paddock.

For 2026, Herfoss transitions to the Vance & Hines-led factory program, piloting a refined Indian Challenger powered by the liquid-cooled PowerPlus 112 engine. Reunited with a platform he has mastered, and backed by the engineering might of Vance & Hines, Herfoss remains the benchmark for the class. His singular mission: to reclaim the crown and further cement his legacy as a titan of American V-Twin racing.

Little Known Fact: Troy has also competed at the highest level of Australian bicycle road racing. Mick Doohan was Troy’s racing hero when he was growing up. In his down time Troy enjoys spending time with his family and riding motocross for recreation and fitness. Troy came back from career-threatening leg injuries after a crash in 2021.

2025 – Finished third in King of the Baggers riding for S&S/Indian Motorcycle. Scored six podium finishes, including two wins (Road America and COTA). 2024 – Won the King Of The Baggers Championship in his first season of competing in the series. Earned 15 podium finishes, including a series leading seven wins. Also rode the Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW Superbike in place of injured Cameron Beaubier in MotoAmerica Superbike at Brainerd where he tallied 7th and 8th place finishes. Those two race results placed him 22nd in the final MotoAmerica Superbike standings. 2005-2023 – Herfoss was a leading AMA Supermoto racer in the mid-2000s. He finished third in AMA Supermoto Unlimited in 2005 and won two races in the series. A household name in Australian racing, Herfoss transcends boundaries between on and off-road competitions, as he’s recorded championship titles in several forms of motorcycle racing, including Australian Dirt Track, Supermoto, and Supersport. Herfoss was the 2008 AMA Supermoto champion and a Moto X-Games silver medalist. He was also an Australian Supermoto Champion. Won the Australian Superbike Championship three times (2016, 2018 & 2023).
