CRT Motorsports/FUSS Racing has announced that Colombian Rigo Salazar will race the team’s Kawasaki ZX-6R in the upcoming Daytona 200 at Daytona International Speedway, March 7-9. This year’s Daytona 200 will be the first for Salazar, and he’s hoping to open the door for others from Colombia to follow in his footsteps.

Team owners Yoan Chavez and Rafael Fuentes have worked with Salazar in the past and together have been able to achieve great results.

“Rigo brings a lot of experience, and we know that he is capable of running a good race with the big boys,” said Chavez. “He is a smart rider with lots of patience but is very fast at the same time. For us, it will be more about the team to execute great pit stops and let Rigo do what he does best.”

“I am very excited to race the Daytona 200 for the first time in my career,” Salazar said. “This is one of the biggest races in the world, and to be a part of it is just incredible. I have worked together with Yoan and Rafael in the past and, when I decided that I wanted to take on this challenge, I knew they were going to be up for the task. Now, we just need to stay humble and learn as much as we can on Thursday and Friday to be able to hang with the other riders on race day.”
