Former MotoAmerica Supersport Champion Sean Dylan Kelly spent the past two years forging his racecraft in the fiery crucible that is the FIM Moto2 World Championship. Kelly has returned to the MotoAmerica series and is beginning his rookie season in the Steel Commander Superbike Championship.
Aboard his TopPro Racing BMW M 1000 RR on Friday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Kelly was seventh-fastest in Practice 1 and moved into the top-five fastest Superbike riders in Qualifying 1. SDK is looking to move up some more today in Qualifying 2, and he is hopeful for a podium finish in today’s race one and tomorrow’s race two.
We spoke with the always-smiling and charismatic Kelly at the end of the day on Friday.
