Ricci was recently featured on Action News Now in Chico, California.

TEK Moto Performance rider Alex Ricci, who competed in the final two rounds of the 2020 MotoAmerica SportbikeTrackGear.com Junior Cup series and will participate in his first full MotoAmerica season in 2021, was featured in a video segment that was produced and aired by the local TV station in his hometown of Chico, California.

Ricci, whose racing is unhampered by the added challenge of having an underdeveloped left hand, in fact, embraces his situation and even goes by the nickname of “The Claw.”

In the video from Action News Now, onboard track footage of Ricci at speed shows how he operates the clutch to shift the transmission on his Kawasaki Ninja 400.

“It was definitely a learning curve,” Ricci explained to Action News Now Reporter Amy Lanski, “but taking the motorcycle safety course and them having you just work the clutch…helped a lot…but, since then, it is basically second-nature. I don’t notice it, really. I just have my hand sitting on the bar and, when I need to shift or pull the clutch in, I basically take my hand off and wrap it around the bar and pull it in, and then let go and put my hand back on the bar.”
