“Aprilia Racing.” Yep, that’s the plan, to race RS 660s in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup Championship.

One if by land, two if by sea…and it looks like four in crates if by tractor-trailer.

Four freshly crated Aprilia RS 660s. Destined for Twins Cup Competition, maybe?

Word has it, and there is also photographic evidence, that the much-anticipated Aprilia RS 660 twin-cylinder sportbikes are in the U.S. and already in some dealerships.

Ever since Aprilia introduced the bike last year, there has been much speculation and anticipation among the MotoAmerica Twins Cup community about whether the paradigm-shifting machine would be approved by MotoAmerica.

Will this street-going, twin-cylinder sportbike be transformed into a Twins Cup racebike? Stay tuned.

Part of that approval process will involve MotoAmerica Technical Director Tige Daane, who is working on steps to get the Aprilia RS 660 homologated and balanced (if necessary) for competition in the MotoAmerica Championship.

More details to come soon, so stay tuned.
