2004 Superbikes At Mid-Ohio

Watch Nicky “The Kentucky Kid” Hayden pilot his Factory Honda RC51 to hunt down race leader Eric Bostrom. Johnny Hopper: Inside A $500,000 Factory Ducati Superbike

What happens when a pro motocross racer trades dirt for apexes? Johnny Hopper (MotoUnfiltered) made his way out to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca to give his audience a behind-the-scenes look at the rides of the MotoAmerica Quad Lock Superbike class.

The paddock crossover runs deeper than you think. Hopper actually shared the gate with current road racing icon Jake Gagne back at the 2015 AMA Pro Motocross event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. To put their achievements in perspective: simply qualifying for an AMA Outdoor National is immensely difficult. By securing spots on the final 40-man gate, both riders proved they belonged among the 40 fastest 450 athletes in the nation. Gagne finished P31 that day, with Hopper just two spots back in P33.Today, Hopper has grown a very popular YouTube channel around professional motocross and is on a mission to showcase road racing to the broader off-road community.

His elite racing background gives him a unique technical lens, spotting the intricate details and setup nuances that casual observers easily overlook. Be sure to give him a follow and possibly gain a bit of off-road knowledge as well.
