Michael van der Mark won’t be returning to the World Superbike Championship in 2026 with BMW, but the popular Dutchman is hopeful of staying with the brand and that may translate to van der Mark bringing his talents to the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship.

Van der Mark talked about his future today at Magny-Cours, the site of this weekend’s ninth round of the World Superbike Championship.

“I think BMW made a good decision to sign Danillo (Petrucci),” van der Mark said. “At the moment, he is third in the championship. I think he will fit very well the team and the bike so that’s good for the team. On my side, I won’t continue with in World Superbike with BMW, although my plan is to stay with BMW and we are looking at different options. One of them, and I’m really looking forward to and my wish right now, is to go to MotoAmerica. We’re working on it and this is my plan to stay with BMW, in the company, and plan a lot of things for the future with them. And, of course, my Suzuka experience with the endurance team was a good time there so this could also be in the pipeline. I really want to stay with BMW.”
