Harley-Davidson Factory Racing’s Kyle Wyman jumped to the top of the timesheets midday on Friday to earn provisional pole position for tomorrow’s two Mission King Of The Baggers races at Circuit of The Americas. Later this afternoon, Q2 will finalize the grid and most expect times to drop even more as traction continues to improve.

With grip improved dramatically from this morning’s session after Moto 3, Moto 2 and MotoGP all had their practice sessions following this morning’s Baggers session, Wyman and the rest of the field improved their times dramatically from the slippery morning session.

With a lap just .370 of a second off his lap record set this past September, Wyman went ahead of S&S/Indian Motorcycle’s Troy Herfoss with the Aussie leading this morning’s session. Herfoss was just .370 of a second behind Wyman.

Third quickest was SDI/Roland Sands Racing/Indian Motorcycle’s Bobby Fong, though the Californian’s session was cut short by a mechanical issue. Fong was the only other rider to join Wyman and Herfoss in the 2:15s.

Herfoss’ teammate Tyler O’Hara was fourth fastest with RevZilla/Motul/Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson’s Hayden Gillim rounding out the top five.

Q2 for the Mission King Of The Baggers will be this afternoon at 4:15 with the Mission King Of The Baggers Sprint race (for the top five qualifiers) set to begin at 4:45 p.m.
