While MotoAmerica was in action on the U.S. West Coast this past weekend, way over in Europe, a couple of former MotoAmerica class champions were racing in World Championships, and their results were quite spectacular.

First of all, Garrett Gerloff was fresh off signing a new contract as the Lone Star of the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team, and he was excited to compete in the British round at Donington Park, which is a track he really enjoys. The Texan finished eighth in Saturday’s 23-lap Race 1 and, brimming with confidence, he lined up for the 10-lap Superpole Race on Sunday morning and notched another very respectable eight-place result. But, the best was yet to come.

Determined to showcase the results of his and his team’s continuing hard work in developing the only official Kawasaki factory entry on the World Superbike grid, the Double-G achieved his best individual race result yet aboard his #31 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR. He finished sixth in Race 2 after 23 laps of the 2.5-mile circuit and scored 10 important championship points as a result.

“I feel like, today, we made a big step with the bike, mainly in the electronics,” Gerloff said. “It is just nice to feel that everything is coming naturally. In general, it was a good day. I had two good starts and two good first laps, so I put myself in a decent spot and didn’t lose positions. I am pretty happy. Every time I ride the bike, I have a clearer idea of what can be changed to make it better. But that takes time, so I just need more time riding the bike to figure that stuff out. Everything is pointing in the same direction, and we are all on the same page about set-up stuff. There is definitely more room for us to grow. I think, if we can make some changes, we can make an even bigger step in the right direction.”

In a very tight midfield points battle, and after seven rounds completed in the 2025 WorldSBK Championship, Gerloff is now ranked 16th overall, with 60 points, a full 20 of which he accumulated at just the Donington Park round this past weekend alone.

Meanwhile, at the Sachsenring in the Moto2 Liqui Moly Grand Prix of Germany, Californian Joe Roberts raced his OnlyFans American Racing Team Kalex to a sixth-place result, which followed his fifth-place finish at the previous Moto2 round at Assen.

Roberts is currently ranked 13th in the points standings out of the 21 riders competing in this year’s Moto2 Championship.
