RIP: Ryan Blumenauer, 1987-2025

Neal Blumenauer, a long-time photographer in our paddock, sent word to us that his son Ryan, who was also his partner at MotoPixs and @RaceAMA, passed away at age 38.

Ryan was well-known by many of the riders and teams in the paddock for his and his father Neal’s photos, and the pair were constant fixtures at some of our rounds, including Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Barber Motorsports Park, and Circuit of The Americas.

“Ryan’s passion for motorcycles and motorcycle racing began at a very early age when he used to ride his Yamaha PW50 around the infields at all the racetracks while I did my camera work.” Neal said. “Years later, when Ryan was able to adjust his ‘dayjob’ schedule, he partnered with me at the track with a camera of his own, and it was like a dream come true. How many people are lucky enough to have that kind of a relationship with their kid?”

Neal asked us to post a couple of the photos that Ryan took of Cam Petersen this past season at COTA in remembrance of his beloved son and photography partner.

Godspeed, Ryan.
