The 2025 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup Championship wrapped up this past weekend with two races at Sepang Internaional Circuit in Malaysia.

Japanese rider Ryota Ogiwara, who previously competed in MotoAmerica’s Junior Cup Championship, started from the pole and clinched the season title with his runner-up finish in Saturday’s race one, and then he notched another runner-up result in Sunday’s race two.
Ogiwara completed a season in which he won eight Asia Talent Cup races in a row, along with two second-place finishes, in the six-round, 12-race Championship.

Australian rider Bodie Paige, who raced in the inaugural MotoAmerica Parts Unlimited Talent Cup By Motul Championship this past season, qualified fifth for this past weekend’s Asia Talent Cup final round. In Saturday’s race one, while running in sixth place on the opening lap, he made contact with another rider and was asssessed a double-long-lap-penalty as a result. Paige unfortunately then crashed out of 18th place on the penultimate lap of the race. In Sunday’s race two, he finished fifth. Paige competed in three Asia Talent Cup rounds this past season—Qatar, Indonesia, and Malaysia—and he scored Championship points at all three rounds.

Two other MotoAmerica riders—Mahdi Salem and Kensei Matsudaira—also competed in this year’s Asia Talent Cup Championship, although neither of them attended this past weekend’s final round in Malaysia. Salem raced in round two in Qatar and round three in Malaysia where he scored points in all four races, while Matsudaira raced in round four in Japan where he scored points in race one.
