Talk about electrifying. OrangeCat Racing has announced that it will enter the 2026 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship with a two-rider team featuring multi-time MotoAmerica Champion Josh Herrin and teammate Kaleb De Keyrel aboard identically prepared Lightfighter V3-RH electric motorcycles.

Lightfighter began as a passion project to develop a purpose-built, racetrack-specific electric motorcycle. As the bike revealed its strengths, the team took on larger challenges racing head-to-head against some of the fastest internal-combustion-engine-powered competitors in U.S. club racing. In 2026, Lightfighter, in partnership with OrangeCat Racing, will enter the MotoAmerica Championship for the first time as they continue to develop track-focused motorcycles that help riders go faster and further safely. And, with Herrin and De Keyrel in the saddles of their Lightfighter V3-RH machines, the innovative program is definitely on a fast track.
With nearly two decades of motorcycle road racing under his belt, Herrin has won four national championships, including the 2013 Superbike Championship, the 2016 Superstock 1000 Championship, the 2022 Supersport Championship, and the 2024 Superbike Championship.
“I’m really excited to be joining OrangeCat Racing and getting the chance to race and develop the Lightfighter,” Herrin said. “I’ve had a good gut feeling about this program from the beginning, and the passion and commitment from everyone involved in the project makes me confident in what we’re building. I can’t wait to see how far we can push this bike and hopefully put it at the front, fighting for wins.”
De Keyrel previously raced for OrangeCat in 2023, finishing as runner-up in the 2023 Stock 1000 Championship. Prior to that, he was the 2021 Twins Cup Champion.
“I’m so excited to be back racing for OrangeCat again this season,” said De Keyrel. “They’re a great team, and we have all the right people in place to be successful. I’m also honored to pilot the all-new Lightfighter V3-RH, and I fully believe this is the future of racing.”
The 2026 Mission Super Hooligan National Championship will consist of 10 races at five rounds across the U.S.
