Harley-Davidson x Dynojet Factory Racing’s Bradley Smith was kept overnight at Ohio Health in Mansfield, Ohio, for further evaluation after his horrific crash in the first qualifying session of the Mission King Of The Baggers class on Friday afternoon. Smith has been diagnosed with four broken ribs and was kept overnight to make sure he sustained no other injuries. Smith’s injuries have forced the team to scratch the Brit from the rest of the weekend’s action at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Smith’s factory Harley-Davidson Road Glide will be ridden in his absence by former Harley factory rider Travis Wyman. Wyman qualified via Q1 on Jake Lewis’ Saddlemen Race Development Harley-Davidson as Lewis has elected to focus his efforts on the Mission Super Hooligan National Championship class where he is attempting to win the championship.

Smith was highsided from his Harley-Davidson Road Glide with some five minutes left in Q1 with the bike and rider tumbling into the gravel trap with the bike catching Smith and pinning him. Smith ended the red-flag interrupted Q1 session fifth-fastest.
